We are writing this "something". We build for end-user simplicity and beautiful UX. Our platform has become our everyday productivity booster, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

LiveMinutes is a free and feature packed web conferencing tool
LiveMinutes started on a simple idea
“Everyday, we work with people who are not in the same room, and most of the time, we just send documents by email or dropbox and pick up the phone. So we don’t look together at the document, we don’t edit the document together, and more importantly we still have to take notes on the side! We created LiveMinutes to address this everyday collaboration use case. Instead of sending an email with a powerpoint attachment and calling your coworker, you can launch a meeting and upload your powerpoint in the meeting, and invite your coworker by email. That way, you can view the slides together, add comments, and download the powerpoint with the comments inside it when you are done. Much faster, more efficient, and not comments lost!”, says Kemal El Moujahid, Founder and CEO of Liveminutes.
While Skype lets you chat and share screen, Liveminutes allows you to quickly show something to another person. Kemal says that it is not a real collabortaion solution. The content stays on one person’s laptop and others cannot edit it. And then what happens when there are more than two people? LiveMinutes lets users upload their content in the cloud and share it in realtime with other meeting participants.
Liveminutes came into being to work on some of the pressing issues in web conferencing platforms
The first one is usability. Webconferencing is still inheriting old codes from the software industry, where one needs a one day training session and special glasses to use the product. Running a meeting should be as intuitive as browsing the web. The second one is collaboration. Webconferencing is historically one person, a salesman or a teacher, broadcasting a message to many participants. But now everyone wants to participate in the meeting. The third one is open standards. When you are in a meeting, you will want to be able to fetch note from Evernote, files from Dropbox, and save everything back there.
Liveminutes has already had 100,000 sessions since their launch
To this Kemal exclaims, “When we said we were going to solve something as big as web collaboration, two things happened: users were very supportive, because they need these types of tool, but they also were very demanding! For example, they asked for features that only Google proposes on the market, i.e. real-time text co-editing. Now, solving a problem that only Google does sounds pretty daunting, but we are lucky to have some pretty good engineers too! Users also required to connect on audio seamlessly by Skype, browser, or the phone. So unlike many startups, our journey from 0 to 100,000 was a long stream of building what our users asked, rather than keeping a thin scope and finding new users! It has been very rewarding, and it still is, to receive inquiries from users telling us how much they like what we are building, and of course asking for this new feature they can’t live without:) Thanks to these users, we find ourselves marketing an unparalleled product, addressing a huge use case.”
Liveminutes works for any kind of business
Kemal says, “We are relevant to any business user who works on an everyday basis with other co-workers. If you are on conference calls a lot, and you’d like to take notes with other participants, show jpegs, powerpoints, excel spreadsheets, documents, then LiveMinutes is for you. If you’re on Skype a lot, and find your self talking about a visual element, then you’d be better off launch a LiveMinutes call and actually show what you mean. So our users are consultants, lawyers, product managers, free lancers, designers, architects, teachers, a very diverse range!”
Liveminutes has some strong partnerships
Their strongest partnership is with Evernote. Kemal tells us, “We are very proud to be an Evernote Business partner, and we love the product integration we implemented with them. It makes a lot of sense. When you are in a LiveMinutes meeting, you can pull a note from your Evernote account into the meeting and edit it together with other participants. When you’re done, everything is magically saved back into your Evernote account. Now that Evernote is expanding towards the enterprise, users will want more to collaborate on their content, and “remember every meeting”. So using LiveMinutes is a perfect combination.”
To wind up Kemal explains us his vision, “The future of web conferencing is to “dissolve into the web”. Webconferencing will stop being thought as “software” that you have to launch to communicate. It will just be part of the browsing experience, one where other people join you to interact. We are strong believers of this idea at LiveMinutes, and we are excited about our future roadmap: Improving the UX, adding collaboration, integrating deeper into the ecosystem! We were fortunate to be supported by a small group of angel investors from the start, who believed in our vision that collaboration would become realtime in the soon future.”
